Country’s largest robotics competition center opens its doors in Panevėžys
The largest robotics competition centre in Lithuania “RoboLabas” opened its doors in Panevėžys on the 27th February. It is expected that it will encourage children in the region to familiarise themselves with the latest technologies, learn programming, build engineering solutions, develop creativity, critical thinking and other future competencies.
“Developing Industry 4.0, robotics and automation in the city of Panevėžys requires a complex approach that covers a wide range of areas – from the introduction of robotics in preschool education to business cooperation. Students, teachers and enthusiasts from Panevėžys and other cities will find “RoboLabas” to be the best conditions to emerge themselves into the world of robotics. We hope that this will encourage young people to link their lives with the this field,” says Rytis Mykolas Račkauskas, Mayor of Panevėžys City.
Both formal and informal education will be organised in the space of almost 650 square meters. Robotics will be either integrated with information technology, mathematics and other subjects or taught as an elective subject. Informal robotics education classes will be organised in the afternoons as well.
